We have a date for our up coming spring regatta April 9th and 10th. So if you would like to sail or just help out that would be great. Just let us know.

Some upcoming events we are going to do are moon light bowling and there is a Mad River college night every Friday. We are planning on going in the upcoming weekends but we need to see some interest first!

Don't forget we have "Thursday Show Night" every Thursday at the Yacht Club. We watch all the new episodes including The Office, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock and finally Jersey Shore! So come on over to watch them all and hang out with the team.

  • We are having a Spring Break informational meeting Tuesday Nov. 30th. We don't have a room yet but when we do we will let you know.
  • Our Thanksgiving dinner is Sunday Nov. 21st. Alyssa will be sending an email out in the next couple weeks explaining food sign ups. Everyone is encouraged to come as this is a great way to meet new people and hang out with the team.
  • At the Thanksgiving dinner we will be accepting nominations for next year's Executive Board. So if you or someone you know is interested, let us know at the dinner.
  • Just as a reminder, the Cup Party is this Friday night. Members will get a cool mug for their beverages and you can invite your friends as well (although they won't get a cool mug)
  • We have our t-shirts, so you can purchase them at the Cup Party, Thanksgiving dinner, or the SB Meeting. They are $10 each.

Welcome to Fall 2010!

Print PDF

The involvement fair and after part went amazingly well, and we are excited to welcome all of our new and prospective sailors! This fall is going to be so fun, and joining the team is the perfect chance to learn to sail, to start competing, or to continue your sailing at the college level!

•    There is a General Interest Meeting Sunday, September 26, at 8:00 pm in the Dave Griner Meeting Room in the RPAC (upstairs past the cardio machines, ask at info desk if you have trouble finding it). It’s a great chance to learn more about joining the team and what we’re all about.

•    Practices begin next Thusday and will be every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the quarter. Meet between 3:30 and 4:30 at the Yacht Club House 71 E woodruff and we will carpool to our sailing site at Hoover Reservoir in Westerville.

•    If you aren’t receiving emails or did not sign up for the email list, send us an email using the contact form.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Alyssa Singer,
Publicity Chair

  • You should have gotten an email from Andrew about Rec sailing for the rest of this quarter. But just as a reminder, in addition to regular practice we will be offering practices on Saturday afternoons. (Same time as regular practice). This should be a good way to get more time on the water!
  • We still need dues from some people. You won't be able to attend some of the social events for Spring if you do not pay.
  • The Flying Scott regatta is on May 22-23 at Hoover. We always help out with it and need some more volunteers so let a board member know if you are able to help out. There is free food and it should be pretty fun.
  • Our spring formal party is coming up soon. You should be getting some information about it pretty soon. The theme is "A Night in Paris"
  • Here is the link to the blog that Chaz and Tyler have set up to update everyone on boat repairs and the status of our fleet.   http://osuboatproject.blogspot.com/
  • Last but not least, we have some pretty exciting regattas lined up for the Fall season so stay tuned for more updates on that.

Practice will be as usual this week. See you guys on the water.
